Today we learned how to measure THIRDS - which are SKIPS on the PIANO and SKIPS on the STAFF!
Remember that the THUMB (finger 1) can rest completely on its side when playing. Work to make sure the 4th finger is getting stronger and that no fingers are collapsing but getting stronger EVERY PRACTICE!
Remember to keep LISTENING HANDS AND LISTENING EYES AND EARS when the teacher is talking :-).
We are using our LANDMARK NOTES- TREBLE G - Treble G can be found by seeing that the curve in the treble clef is wrapping around the second LINE (RIGHT HAND) and LANDMARK F in the BASS CLEF (LEFT HAND).
CAREFUL READING OF STEPS UP AND DOWN. SAY NOTE NAMES AND THEN COUNT YOUR SONGS LIKE YOUR RHYTHMS!

Read the STEPS UP and DOWN in BOTH HANDS. Look for the starting NOTE first, THEN the finger number. Observe the DYNAMICS, mf=mezzo forte (MEDIUM LOUD), and f=forte (LOUD). Say the NOTE NAMES, then COUNT 1-2-3-4.
